View from our first hotel in Manali. We drove 12 hours through the Himalayas. The drive was hard because of the windy roads ad crazy Indian drivers. Even I was sick (probably a combination of the food that does not sit well with my stomach and motion sickness).
The yak I rode. Yes, that is a giant furry cow.
All of our luggage piled off the floor. We saw a mouse scurrying around. We could never find the mouse, it was hilarious.

View from our city in Dharmsala. This is where the Dahli Lama lives. We also drove today for 8 hours to get here. We drove through a monsoon storm. It was terrifying. The roads were flooded and I thought we would be swept up in a flash flood. But we got here safe!

i'm just now getting around to reading all the many blogs i stalk, it feels weird to be here now reading what was written in india a week ago. that view from our mouse-filled hotel in manali was gorgeous. best way to start my day, discovering that balcony. that night with the mouse will always be one of my favorite memories of the trip. that picture you got of the himalayas is gorgeous! now that i've gone through all my photos, i'm wishing i had taken 1,000 more.
