Taking the stage I become someone I wish to be.
I tear open my soul and out pours the dancer in me.
Time stands still as I radiate a glow that dancers know
And communicate with those who watch the show.
Like a candle lit, I burn brightly on the stage.
Reading, touching the audience though they are far away.
For I am in a private world that only dancers know
And there I become the dancer in my soul.

Word cannot convey how EXCITED I am to be preforming in the Modern Dance Senior Concert (I) this week!
Last night we had our first lighting rehearsal. Standing on a real stage for the first time in years gave me this twitterpated/intensely happy/nervous butterfly feeling. I couldn't help but grin stupidly while doing our dance (which our dance isn't a cheesy-grinny dance... I'll have to work on my facial expression).
I owe a huge thanks to one of my best friends, Melissa. She's a senior and graduating with a degree in Modern Dance! That's a huge accomplishment, and she let me be in her senior dance piece. I'm so excited she's graduating!
If you want to come see me perform, it's April 5-7 7:30pm at the Hayes Christensen Theatre (MCD) on the University of Utah campus. U student admission is free with a student card.
Break a leg!
That is awesome! Good luck! You will be amazing!
ReplyDeleteCongratulations! I wish I could be there. Break a leg!
ReplyDeleteGood luck!!!!
ReplyDeleteSo this makes me think of something funny. So remember the African song we used to sing before every performance. I totally heard that song on a childrens CD at Gymboree the other day. Kinda startled me for a moment :) P.S. This is Jessica
