Business Day

Hello all! So I must say my second day was definitely harder. We were all hit with jet lag. The whole group was exhausted.

Today we made four visits around the city to four different international businesses: Nike, Deloitte, Intel, and the US Embassy. I would have to say Nike was my favorite. To be honest, they were all really hard to sit through. I just wanted to sleep.

After the Intel visit we stopped to get lunch at a local mall. Guess what I had for lunch? Arby's! I was feeling pretty crappy so I decided to eat something I was used to. Thank goodness for American food. The sauce was actually different, but it tasted so good.

After the US Embassy our tour guide treated us to a private boat ride up the Black Sea! It was amazing! Istanbul is so beautiful. We saw boaters knee-boarding. It looked so fun, I was jealous.

After the amazing boat ride we were set free to go to the hotel and do whatever. A group of us went up the street to find food. I ate this cooked corn on the cob from a vendor on the street. It was pretty good. I also bought Hannah's present, and used my awesome bartering skills. I'm pretty proud of myself.

We then walked around the streets. They're all cobble stone and tiny! The cars really have trouble driving through and there's so much traffic. We saw a real Turkish bath. Some girls wanted to do it, but there's no way I'm stripping down and have someone else scrub my body. Ha ha

The view from the boat. The Hagia Sofia is right behind me.

Funny, I only get the free wi-fi from the corner if my bathroom. I'm going to bed now, good night!

  1. That's awesome you went to the embassy. I actually talked to some groups like yours when they came to visit our embassy. I LOVE all the different sauces American fast food restaurants have around Europe. They are delicious, I don't understand why we don't have more variety in the US. I was so tired the day after we got to London, I can't imagine sitting through meetings. That's mean of them to schedule 4 meetings the day after you arrive!
